Fall 2020 One Room Challenge - Week 1

Well friends, I decided to finally take part in the One Room Challenge!

As a first time guest participant I'm new to everything, and on a big learning curve.  Should be fun!

I had heard about the One Room Challenge many years ago. It's a biannual event every April and October. Each round, twenty design influencers are selected to take the challenge, as Featured Designers, and transform a space. Every Wednesday, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice over eight weekly posts. Guest designers are also welcome to participate, and that's were I come in!

Interior design has always been a love of mine and it seems like the right time to embark on a new adventure.

I'm very excited about redoing our living room. As our lives have evolved our living room has not, and it needs to catch up! For our living room design, I want a neutral base, space for our family of seven to maneuver, and visual balance..

-Curtain Rods and Curtains

-New Sofa situation

-Layered Rugs

-New Art (mine)

-Repot my Ficus Tree

-Add Architectural interest

The next few weeks will be filled with me doing my best thrift shopping, creative thinking, and budget DIY projects to pull this off.  Follow along as I figure this out, and turn our family room into what I'm dreaming of in my mind.

xo, Maria
